Fall semesters

MESA facilitates the annual San Diego MESA Alliance collaborative STEM Shadow Day, which is open to all SDSU undergraduate students (MESA program students are given a priority in being matched to participating companies). Students "shadow" an engineer or scientist in their engineering or scientific work environment and learn more about the company and career field.

Training Academies

Any semester

In addition to various company information sessions, SDSU MESA also partners with industry to host Training Academies.  The purpose of a Training Academy is for the industry host to provide "in-house" training that addresses gaps they are seeing from new graduates/new hires.  This is a topic/concept or technical skill set that students will not receive in the classroom; mixed with soft skills, emotional intelligence, and professional development to enhance their employability.
